Obituary of Alfred R. Gilbert

Adams - Alfred R. Gilbert, 78, of Pinehurst Apartments, and formerly of the Country View Apartments died Friday morning at his home. A funeral mass will be held 4:00 pm Tuesday June 21, at St. Cecelia’s Church, Adams with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery, Henderson. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Piddock Funeral Home, Adams. Born November 13, 1937 in Henderson, son of Fred and Mildred (White) Gilbert, he attended Henderson High School. He then worked locally on farms, the Arcade Cafe in Watertown and later worked several years at the N.Y. Air Brake. Alfred joined the US Army reserves in 1957 and was honorably discharged in 1963. Among his survivors are a nephew Raymond Gilbert, Baldwinsville, two cousins Shirley Frasier, Watertown and Beverly Frasier, Theresa, and his closest friends William and Jill Ose, Adams. He is predeceased by five brothers, Donald, Clinton, Ray, Merton and Gerald as well as a sister who died in her youth. Alfred was a communicant of St. Cecilia’s Church, Adams and Knights of Columbus Council 7364.
