Obituary of Landon E. Pauley

Landon Earl Pauley (88) of Adams Center, NY died March 30, 2025 at Samaritan Keep Home, Watertown, NY.  Also known as Lannie, Duke, L.P., Pops, and Papa, he was born November 10, 1936 in South Charleston, WV, into a large family, son of Harry & Thelma (Williams) Pauley.  He attended school in South Charleston.   He worked on his family’s farm growing up and returned to help out.  Following school he worked as a cook in the Charleston area. He married Violet Ruena Harrah of Ansted, WV on September 30, 1967. The couple lived in Charleston following their marriage. Mr. Pauley retired in 1998 after 25 years for Pepsi-Cola.   He was a member of the Teamsters Union. The couple moved to Adams Center in 2002. He is survived by his wife Violet, 2 daughters Marla (Bill) Elliott, Adams Center; Karen White (companion Doug Christmann), Montrose, CO; 6 grandchildren-Justin Elliott, Jaime Hoyman, Farley Elliott, David Lee Shaffer, Jordan Elliott, Cole Elliott; 6 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; 1 brother David Pauley of Cleveland, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, 6 brothers Harry Pauley, Robert P., Edward P., Harold P., Larry, Quincey, and 3 sisters Virginia Cantley, Margret Marker, Anna Pauley. Mr. Pauley loved to talk to anyone and never met a stranger. He was a very hard worker, enjoyed hunting small game, running his beagles and  meeting new friends. He spent his last years living at Samaritan Keep, Watertown, NY  The caregivers and fellow residents became his extended family and friends.  There will be a Celebration of life to be announced in June.
