Dorine Lancor

Obituary of Dorine L. Lancor

Dorine Louise Lancor, of Black River, lovingly known as “Everybody’s Gramma,” passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, NY, at the age of 94. Arrangements are with the Piddock Funeral Home Inc, Adams, NY. Born on June 2, 1930, in Edwards, NY, daughter of Clyde and Jennie (Northrup) Phelps, she lived a life defined by warmth, laughter, and unwavering love for her family. She was known for her kind heart, caring nature, and quick wit—traits that made her a beloved presence in every room she entered. Dorine found joy in the simple pleasures of life: spending time with her cherished cats, taking scenic rides to spot and count deer, and proudly attending her grandchildren’s school sports games. She had a natural way of making others feel seen, loved, and supported, and her door—and her heart—were always open. She is survived by her devoted long-time companion, James Wilson, and her children: Carol (Larry) Phillips, Steven (Juanita) Lancor, Cathy (Doug) Polyot, Margie (Marty) Beaman, and Nancy Chirico. Dorine was a proud grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother to many, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She was predeceased by her son, Richard Lancor; her grandson, Cody Chirico; and her siblings: Doris Manchester, Donald Phelps, Delbert Phelps, Dorothy O’Brien, and David “Bobby” Phelps. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public services. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Dorine’s memory will live on in the countless lives she touched, the laughter she shared, and the love she gave so freely. Condolences may be made at www.piddockfuneralhome.com
