Carole “Jean” Neukirch, born on the 24th of January 1937, passed away on Saturday, the 5th of July 2025 at the age of eighty-eight.

Surviving are her daughters Diane, Barnes Corners, daughter Nancy, Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, her son Bill, Mannsville, and four grandchildren, Casey Jones, Clay Jones, Maddison

Neukirch and Hanna Neukirch.

She is predeceased by her husband Otto, and a son, Mark.

Carole was born and raised in Rahway New Jersey, graduating high school in 1955. After graduation, she started work for the U.S Government, as a typist at Picatinny Arsenal NJ, where she was introduced to her future husband, Otto. After starting their family, they made their way to East Hounsfield, Belleville, Ellisburg, and eventually Adams, NY.

Carole worked at Camp Drum, later renamed Fort Drum, working her way from secretary to the Chief of the Transportation Motor Pool. She was instrumental in the reactivation of the 10th Mountain Division, retiring shortly after the Division's return.

Carole loved yard work, her fishpond, collecting antiques and being with her family. She had a contagious smile and a very sharp sense of humor, infectious laugh, and could cheer anyone up with a word of encouragement and a smile.

Carole also loved animals, but her favorites were her many cats. She earned the nickname “Catsy” as a child because of her inability to turn away a kitten or not feed a stray cat.

She was an awesome mother and grandmother and will always be remembered for her love and compassion and constant encouragement.

The family will hold a private celebration of life at the old farm in Rodman.

In lieu of flowers or donations, Mom would appreciate it if you would be kind to people, help them, and make them smile.
