Harvest Time
Tune: Hymns Old and New:
Faint Yet Pursuing
Lee was a harvester,
He worked with trees - -
Be they prime timber
Or frail with disease.
One was just scrap,
While the other he’d use:
Finest veneer logs that none would refuse,
Finest veneer logs that none would refuse.
Through years of living
Lee beat many odds:
Body much beaten,
Ignoring time’s prods,
He kept on working:
’Twas all that he knew!
Forestry, lumber yard, to family true,
To faith and family always most true.
While life and living
Took lots of his time,
He looked above
To things pure and sublime.
For those he lived, for the others must fail.
For those Lee lived for all others would fail,
Finally harvest time
Came for dear Lee.
But to God his life
Surpassed any tree
That Lee had harvested, or God had made.
Trees that he harvested, which his God made.

Words can hardly express our feelings as we think about so many years of close and valued friendship with Lee & Sue and the empty feeling now that he’s gone. He proved himself to be a
true friend all through our lives, and to the very end. We will miss his kindness, quiet strength, wit and ... grit. We are grateful for so many memories. Our deepest condolences to Sue, Brent, Julie and all the family.

"Sweet is the story you shall tell, at eventide when day is done"
As long as I have lived, Lee was a part of our life. Sue and Lee are my parent's best friends of 45 years. We spent summer weeks in Sue and Lee's home as kids, going fishing, playing in the woods, going to the sawmill, Sunday morning and gospel meetings, Jerk subs , FFA parades , the list goes on. The last two years we were able to visit for a week and stay with Sue and Lee, and I'm so glad we did. The last trip in June was the hardest goodbye, because we knew he was fading soon. Even then, he put the effort into spending time with our kids, who love him dearly. I think God's work was perfected in Lee awhile ago, but He kept him here longer to be an example to the rest of us.
He was one of the very best.
Love, Jen (Monnat), Kyle, Hunter, and Jessa Pierson
