Nathan I. Parish Obituary

Nathan I. Parish, 43, passed away on Saturday February 14, 2026 unexpectedly at his home in Adams Center, NY.


He was born on March 23, 1982 in Biloxi Mississippi to LouAnne and Clifford Parish III.  Nathan completed primary school in DeRuyter, NY, graduating in 2000.  He attended SUNY Potsdam for early childhood development.  Upon returning from college, he worked within the hospitality industry for many local establishments including The Charter House, Ryan’s Lookout, Lucia’s, Cafe Mira, and many more.  Beyond the restaurant industry he pursued his love of teaching and caring for children by providing childcare for many friends and family within his circle.


Nathan will forever be remembered for being full of life, love and spreading joy everywhere he went.  He had the unique ability to brighten anyone’s day with laughter and fun no matter how hard their day was.


He is survived by his partner of ten years Ryan Sheehey; his parents LouAnne Parish and Clifford Parish III; his siblings Kala (Jordan) Maguire, Mara Sears; and many step siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and several god-children.  He was predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents, and his aunt Marylou Ferry.


A funeral mass will be held at 1:00 pm at Saint Cecilia’s Church, Adams, NY on Friday February 20, 2026.  Spring burial will be in the Saint Cecilia’s Cemetery.  There are no calling hours.


A celebration of Nathan’s life will follow the funeral mass at the O’Black Sheep Pub in Belleville, NY.


The family would like to acknowledge the care and support provided by the First Responders, South Jefferson Rescue Squad, Jefferson County Sheriff, and the NY State Troopers.
