Perry F. McIntosh Obituary
Perry F. McIntosh, 88, of Adams Center, died Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.
Perry was born February 24, 1938 to the late Morris and Louise McIntosh. He graduated from the Adams Center High School in 1956, and married Donna Stinson, his high school sweetheart, in 1958. They enjoyed over 66 years of marriage together.
After graduating high school Perry worked for The Halley Electric Company as an Appliance Technician. After a few years he branched out on his own and started McIntosh Appliance Service, a well-known business that operated for over 30 years in the Watertown and Jefferson County area. During that time, he converted a burned-out department store in Adams Center into a 4-unit apartment building. This was the beginning of a transition into real estate and an apartment rental business. The apartment business became his full time “retirement” job as he continued running the apartments with the help of his wife until the last few years.
Perry served in the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged in 1963. He was very active in the Adams Center Fire Department, and spent many years in charge of their annual Fireman’s Chicken BBQ, which drew hundreds of people from all over the North Country. In his spare time Perry enjoyed flying small planes, traveling, reading about WWII history, and spending time at his summer cottage on Lake Ontario.
Perry was pre-deceased by his wife of 66 years, Donna J. McIntosh in February 2025.
He is survived by a daughter Tami (Jack) Larson and a son Timothy (Traci) McIntosh, along with seven grandchildren: Brianna (Dave) Chennel, Alex (Megan) Larson, Samantha (Zach) Brown, Zachary (Maggie) Larson, Michael McIntosh, Jennie (Tim) Endersby, and Thomas McIntosh. Great Grandchildren include Benjamin, Nora, and Lily Chennell, Penelope Larson, Luella Larson, Juna Larson, and Ariya Brown.
The family would like to sincerely thank caregiver Brenda Merrill for her loving compassion and support of both Perry and Donna McIntosh over the last several years. We’d also like to thank the staff at Samaritan Summit Village.
There will be no public services at this time. A spring celebration of life will be held for family and friends at a date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Adams Center Fire Department or Samaritan Summit Village.
Arrangements are with the Piddock Funeral Home Inc, Adams, NY.
