Patricia A. Mullin Obituary

Patricia A. (Lawrence) Mullin, 90, long-time resident of Adams, passed away on May 21, 2026 while under the care of Hospice of Jefferson County at Ellis Farm, Watertown, NY.

Born on July 25, 1935 at home in Sandy Creek, daughter of Fred and Pearl (Curtis) Lawrence.  She attended Sandy Creek school through sixth grade and graduated from Copenhagen Central School in 1953. She then earned her Registered Nurse license in 1956 after graduating from the House of Good Samaritan School of Nursing. This intensive 3-year residential nursing program included six months of training at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in NYC and three months at the Ogdensburg Psychiatric hospital. After graduation, Pat worked at the House of the Good Samaritan, later in the office of Dr. Carl Alden in Adams, and also did private duty nursing.

After taking several years off to focus on her family dairy farm and raise her children, she worked on the fourth floor of the Samaritan Keep Home from 1980 until her retirement in 2000.

On April 4, 1959 Patricia married Donald R. Mullin of Adams, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Watertown.  Pat met Don when he was a patient on her floor at the House of the Good Samaritan. They operated a dairy farm on Spring Street in Adams for many years, and continued to raise calves after retiring from active farming. Don died July 25, 2001.

Pat and Don always loved nature, and they became avid hikers after their children were grown, hiking many mountains in the Adirondacks. She would always say that going to the mountains felt like going home. Pat enjoyed going for drives with no destination in mind, ice cream, mowing her lawn (which she continued to do until she was 89), talking on the phonewith her friends and spending time with family.

She is survived by her three children, Melissa (Errol) Widrick; Mark Mullin; and Matthew (Maryann) Mullin. Her four grandchildren, Gwenyth Widrick (Matt Schraenkler); Hannah (Mike) Taylor; Zachary Widrick; Kaitlyn Mullin; her two step grandchildren, Kyle Delaney (Kaley Wagoner), and Kate Delaney (Ethan Wiersma), and her two great-granddaughters.

Pat was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her brother, Karl C. Lawrence.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Jefferson County and Samaritan Home Health for the compassionate care they provided to Pat, especially Denise and Casey.
