E. Kenneth “Ken” Bast, 83, of Mannsville, NY and a snowbird of Zephyrhiils, FL for over 30 years, passed away on Sunday April 9, 2023 in Zephyrhills, FL.

Ken was born May 9, 1939 in Watson, NY to Elmer and Violet Bast. He was a dairy farmer in the Jefferson County area for the majority of his life and as well as a carpenter.

He also worked for Widrick Construction and then later for his son Ken Jr. at Bast Home Improvement.

Ken is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years Florence “Flo” (Clement) Bast, two sons Ken Bast Jr (Dawn), Lorraine, and Joseph E. Bast, Adams Center; three grandchildren Kirk Bast (Jessica), Lisa Lagos (Richard) and Joseph C. Bast; five great-grandchildren Scott Lagos, Gabe Bast, Ben Lagos, Nora Bast and Evelyn Lagos. Also three brothers, Robert, Lawson and Durwood (Lois); two sisters Janie Stoffer and Marjorie Wiedner (Warren).

He is predeceased by his parents and a sister Betty (Bast) Widrick.

Ken enjoyed playing Monday night poker and Thursday night cards at Bakers Acres in Zephyrhills, FL. He was also an avid golfer and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

A celebration of Ken’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday April 28, 2023 at the American Legion Don Rounds Post 586, 10 South Main Street, Adams, NY 13605.
