Obituary of Norma J. Peck

Adams - Norma J. Peck, 95, longtime resident of Adams, died Tuesday December 6, 2016 at Samaritan Summit Village, Watertown, where she had resided since 2013. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday at Piddock Funeral Home, Adams, with Rev. Cathy Hamilton officiating. Calling hours will precede the service beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery, Adams, weather permitting. Born June 14, 1921 in Adams, daughter of Ned and Bessie (Gibbons) Larkin, she graduated from Adams High School. She married Charles A. Peck October 1942 in Tucson, AZ. They later renewed their vows at Saint Cecilia’s Church, Adams, with Rev. Harold McCabe officiating. The couple lived in Adams all their married life. Mr. Peck, former mayor of Adams from 1989-1993, died July 28, 2001. Norma worked locally for the former Rings Department Store, Grand Union Grocery Store and later Rod’s Big M. She is survived by a son and daughter in law Jeffrey and Bonnie Peck, Adams; a daughter and son in law Rebecca and Garey Lyndacker, Fuquay-Varina, NC; one sister Jacqueline Sprague, Londonderry, NH; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by two sisters, Jill Taylor and Patricia Percy, and one grandson Bryan Giles. Norma was a former trustee of the Adams Free Library, former member and secretary of the Adams Bowling Club and former member of Tomacy’s Golf Course.
