Obituary of Ruth J Sidman

Ruth J. Sidman, 83, of Valley Place Road, Adams, died Thursday November 2, 2017 at Samaritan Keep Home, Watertown, where she had been a resident since 2014.  Her funeral service will be 10:00 am Tuesday at the Piddock Funeral Home, Adams, with Rev. Brian Snyder officiating.  Burial will follow in the Rural Cemetery, Adams.  Calling hours will be from 6:00-8:00 pm Monday at the funeral home.

Born November 16, 1933 in Boylston, NY, daughter of Alfred and Flora (Yerdon) Bush, she attended Sandy Creek High School.  She babysat for local families.

She married Frederick A. Sidman of Ellisburg on November 17, 1950 in the Methodist parsonage in Belleville, NY, with Rev Miles B. Hutchinson officiating.  Following their marriage, the couple lived in Adams for approximately one year before moving to their home on the Valley Place Road where they lived the rest of their married lives.  Following Mr. Sidman's death on June 29, 1993,  Mrs. Sidman continued to live there until 2014 when she entered the Samaritan Keep Home in Watertown.

Surviving is her son Rick Sidman and companion Carol Beckstead, Adams; one grandson Eric (LaChanda) Sidman, Syracuse; one granddaughter Megan (fiancee Anthony Aquino) Sidman, Watertown; two great grandchildren, Tieanna and Kiarha Sidman; one brother John (Linda) Bush, Sandy Creek, one sister in law Yvonne Bush, Sandy Creek; and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by one brother Lyle Bush.
