Obituary of Joseph C. Misczuk

Watertown, N.Y. – Joseph C. Misczuk, 52, formerly of Adams past away Tuesday evening, Aug.19, 2014 at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, where he had been a patient since Friday Aug. 15. There will be a memorial service on Saturday August 30 at 11:00 am at the Piddock Funeral Home in Adams, with Rev. Mary Drake, officiating. Calling hours will precede the service beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will be private. A Funeral Mass will be said at St. Cecilia’s Church, Adams, at a later date. Born Dec. 17, 1961 son of Stephen and Nancy (Fillhart) Misczuk, he was the youngest of seven children. He attended South Jefferson Central school where was active with wrestling and track. He was also active with the Boy Scouts for a short time. Joseph worked most of his life doing janitorial work. His first job was with the Jefferson County Journal in Adams. His longest employment was with Eagle Janitorial service at LeMoyne College in Syracuse, N.Y. He moved back to the Watertown area in 2012 where he was presently employed at Nice & Easy in Watertown. He was active with the Knights of Columbus at St. Cecilia’s church in Adams. He enjoyed stream fishing, ice fishing, playing poker/any cards, and going to the Casino’s. He also loved animals especially cats and dogs. Surviving are three brothers – Leonard and wife Alicia, Watertown; William and wife Patricia, Pasco, Wa; Stephen James, Adams; three sisters – Helen and partner Alan Kant, Watertown; Mary Misczuk, Brownville; Martha Misczuk, Lorraine; his girlfriend Brenda Danso, Watertown and several nieces and nephews. He is his predeceased by both his parents. Donations in memory of Joseph can be made either to the family, the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
