Obituary of Marion A. Cean

Adams Center - Marion A. Cean, 82, died Monday August 25, 2014 at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown. A memorial service will be at 7:00 pm Friday at the Piddock Funeral Home, Adams, with Al Dowker, pastor of the Honeyville Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be private at a later date. Calling hours are from 5:00 - 7:00 pm preceding the service at the funeral home. Born August 27, 1931 in Adams Center, daughter of Alvaro and Muriel (Hart) Harrington, she graduated from Adams Center High School in 1949, then attended RBI, graduating in 1951. She worked at GMAC in Watertown and later for the town of Adams as a Tax Collector for thirteen years. She married Donald C. Cean of Dexter on August 20, 1953 in the Adams Center Baptist Church with Rev. Bernard C. Schehl officiating. The couple lived in Dexter briefly following their marriage before moving to Adams Center where they lived the rest of their married life. Mr. Cean died January 3, 1982. Mrs. Cean, was lovingly raised by her grandparents LeRoy and Florence Harrington. She is survived by one son and daughter in law, Donald L. and Maureen Palmer Cean, Adams Center; two daughters and son’s in law, Candy Jane and William Roberts, Southern Shores, NC, Carol and Richard Johnson, Adams Center; three grandchildren, Cory Johnson and his wife Cassidy, Casey Johnson and Donald P. Cean; one brother and sister in law, Gerald and Sharon Harrington, Watertown; one sister, Jane Thompson, Watertown; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a brother in law, David Thompson. For many years, Mrs. Cean had been a volunteer for the House of the Good Samaritan in Watertown.
