Obituary of Janet P. Willix

LORRAINE, N.Y.-Janet P. Willix, 81, of Lorraine, passed peacefully in her sleep at the home of her daughter Lesha and son-in-law Daniel on November 16, 2022.  At this time, there will be no services. In the spring of 2023, Janet and her beloved husband, Dan who died May 26, 2017 will be buried in the Highland Park Cemetery, Alexandria Bay, N.Y. A Celebration of Their Lives will follow, to be announced at that time.  Arrangements are with the Piddock Funeral Home Inc., Adams, NY.  Surviving are her daughters; Kathy (Mark) Dealing, Nina (Gary) Zehr, Paula (Frank) Molnar and Lesha (Daniel) Moore. Her grandchildren Shannon (Todd) Galarneau, Shawna (Bob) Berry, Matthew (Megan) Thomas, Rachel (Derek) Card, Crystal O'Shea, Justin O'Shea and Rich White (Kelli), great grandchildren Cierra, Jonathan, Savanna, Braeden, Grant, Gavin, Zoe Lin, Sawyer and great, great grandson Leo John. Also her beloved nieces Karen, Geri and Gay Marie and brother-in-law Art and her fur baby Precious who was always beside her.  Janet was predeceased by her husbands Gordon and Dan, her mother Erma, sister Sylvia, and her beautiful daughters Linda July 9, 2016 and Carol April 6, 2022.  Janet married Gordon Lewis Castor in January 1962 and they shared their six daughters - two of which were twins. Gordon passed away in October 1973.  She later married Dan Willix of Adams. Following their marriage they lived in Adams, Sandy Creek and eventually moved to Lorraine where they lived the rest of their married lives. They enjoyed 46 happy years together.  Dan died May 2017. Janet enjoyed her friends, painting ceramics, fishing, and boating on the St. Lawrence River, collecting Fenton, crystal, figurines, Indian artwork and John Wayne collectibles and his movies. She also loved playing Yahtzee, cards of all sorts of games, and usually won.  Our family would like to recognize Sheila, Oana and Kat. Our mother's loving, kind and devoted caregivers during her Dementia illness.
