Obituary of Sharon L. Roberts

Sharon L. Roberts, 78, formerly of Lorraine, died Sat August 5, 2023 at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, NY. Sharon was currently living in Henderson at the time of her death. Arrangements are with the Piddock Funeral Home Inc., Adams, NY  Born in Gouverneur, NY on March 20, 1945, she was the daughter of John and Rita (Gushlaw) Sherman.  Following her graduation from Adams High School, she married Gerald R. Roberts of Lorraine on June 21, 1962 at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Adams, NY.  The couple lived in Lorraine all their married life.  Mr. Roberts died September 28, 2007.   She is survived by two sons Todd G. (Amber) Roberts, Adams, Tedd D. Roberts, Adams; three daughters Tina M. (Jim) Brown, Henderson, Tana D. (Gene) Pester, Adams, Tara L. (Mike) Altieri, Henderson; eleven grandchildren and several great grandchildren; three sisters Shona Cheney, Susan (Donald) Gould, Sherry Lane and brother, Ronnie Sherman, several nieces and nephews and her live in companion, Phil Clemons. Besides her husband, she is predeceased by her parents, in-laws, two sisters Sonja Cobb and Shelly Campbell Zajesky, and brother, John Eggleston, one grandchild and two great grandchildren. Sharon enjoyed bowling at the former South Jeff Lanes, playing shuffleboard at the Lorraine Hotel and Hillcrest.  She also liked going to Turning Stone Casino in Verona, NY and Point Place in Bridgeport, NY.  However she especially enjoyed her children and her many grand-children.   Per Sharon’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at the Henderson Harbor Performing Arts Center 12469 County Route 123 Henderson Harbor at 1:00 pm.
