Obituary of Kenneth D. Aubrey

August 09, 2023, Kenneth D. Aubrey, 'KD', 85, of Lorraine, NY, passed away peacefully at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center, in Ogdensburg, NY, with his beloved wife Jeanne, step daughter, Kristina, and granddaughter, Taylor at his side. Born August 15, 1937, in Syracuse, NY, son of Garfield J. and Lucy (Salvaterra) Aubrey, he attended school in the Syracuse area. He moved to the Tug Hill Region in the early 1980’s.   KD worked for the Syracuse Mason’s Union BAC Local #2, retiring after over 50 years of dedicated service, continuing to do small jobs following his retirement. Prior to his career as a mason, KD worked as a salesman, traveling all over the states.  Following his retirement from the Mason's Union, KD and Jeanne continued to live in Lorraine, spending their winters in Cape Canaveral, FL. Together for 30 years, they went on numerous adventures and loved each other well.  KD was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, golfing, hunting, reading, boating, gardening, and was known as a culinary genius. He especially enjoyed following his favored NY Giants, and spending time with his friends and family,  while enjoying a good whiskey, cold beer, or a glass of dry red wine.  K.D. is survived by his wife Jeanne (Overton) Aubrey; two sons; Guy (Katherine) Aubrey their children; Luke, Nick, and Kurt, and Gar Aubrey and his children; Miranda, Michele, and Kenny. A stepson Jeff (Lisa) Chapman and their children; Shayla, Marissa, Alizabeth, Leianna, and Jonathan, and a granddaughter, Wynter. A stepdaughter, Kristina (Ben) Tyo and their children; Tristan and Taylor, and granddaughter, Scarlett. A brother William Aubrey, 'Red', and his son, ‘Billy’. A sister Joyce (Bob) Leroy, and their children.  Also his in-laws; Gordon (Mary) Overton, Ginny (Jimmy) Wheeler, Fred (Cindy) Overton, Craig (Connie) Overton, Linda (David) Chapman, David (Debbie) Overton, Kathy (Ronnie) Pearson. He is predeceased by a sister; Lorraine Daily. He was a member of the American Legion Don Rounds Post 586, Adams, NY. There will be a celebration of his life on Sunday, August 20, from 2-5 pm at the American Legion Don Rounds Post 586, Adams, NY. Donations in his memory may be made to the South Jeff VFW 5344, 3 VFW Drive, Adams, NY 13605 or to the American Legion, Don Rounds Post 586, 10 S Main Street, Adams, Ny 13605.
