Deborah Jean Duffany Obituary

Deborah Jean Duffany, 66, longtime resident of Adams Center, went to be with the Lord on February 16, 2024.  A graveside service in the spring will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Watertown, NY. There are no calling hours.


Deborah was born April 2, 1957 , a daughter of Donald F. and Jean M Remington. She graduated from South Jefferson Central School in 1975. A year later she graduated from BOCES in Watertown, earning her degree as an LPN. She then worked at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, NY retiring after more than 40 years. For many years Deborah was the longest tenured employee at Samaritan Medical Center.


Deborah married Michael D. Duffany of Watertown in March 1983. The couple lived in Adams Center all their married life. Mr. Duffany died July 19, 2006.


She is survived by two sons, Sean M. (Karyn-Anne) Duffany, Watertown, Bryan A. Duffany, Adams Center, one brother Jeffrey J. (Michelle) Remington, Belleville, along with two nieces and a nephew.


She is predeceased by her husband, her parents and an uncle, Lawrence Remington.


Deborah enjoyed gardening and decorating her house and yard for Halloween, but most of all she enjoyed taking care of her patients at Samaritan Medical Center and raising her two sons, Sean and Bryon, whom she cherished.


Donations in her memory may be made to a favorite charity of one’s choice.
