Karen L. Macklen, 65, of Worth, died Friday evening March 8, 2024 in the Albany Medical Center Hospital, Albany, NY. A memorial service will be 6:00 pm Friday March 15 at the Piddock Funeral Home, Adams, NY with Rev. Suzanne Finch, pastor of the Lorraine and Mannsville United Methodist Churches officiating. Calling hours will be from 3:00 - 6:00 pm prior to the service. Spring burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Rodman, NY.

Arrangements are with the Piddock Funeral Home Inc, Adams, NY.

Born April 21, 1958 in Watertown, daughter of Frank and Kay (Moore) Ramsey, she graduated from South Jefferson Central School in 1977.

She married Mark G. Macklen of Worth on June 2, 1980 in the Lorraine United Methodist Church. Following their marriage they lived in Worth all their married life.

Karen worked at the South Jefferson Central School as a teacher’s aide and in the cafeteria for many years, retiring in 2022. She also helped on the family farm.

She was survived by her husband Mark, is a son John M. (Dara) Macklen, Boylston; a daughter Katelyn S. Macklen, Worth; two grandsons Reegan and Andrew Macklen; a brother Kevin (Melody) Ramsey, Lorraine; several nieces and one nephew.

She is predeceased by her parents.

Karen loved her family and friends and filled her home with warmth and kindness. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and especially spending time with her grandsons and friends.
