Obituary of George R. Carley

George R. Carley, 80, of Adams Center, NY, was born November 6, 1943 and passed away June 18, 2024 at the Samaritan Keep Home in Watertown NY. George worked for Barry, Bette and Led Duke in Watertown, NY for many years before retiring in 1998. An avid hunter, fisherman and lover of nature, he spent his days as a master carpenter building things with his hands and always working to improve the lives of those around him. He passed his carpentry skills off to his children as well. When George had some free time he was always taking a child or grandchild hunting or fishing showing them how to live off the land and appreciate nature and the circle of life. George lived by the adage of “if you give a man a fish he eats for a day but if you teach a man to fish he eats for a lifetime”. George always had a joke and a great sense of humor. He always gave quality advice and was ready to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it. George was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to anyone that needed an ear to listen. George will truly be missed by so many. He is survived by his wife Bonnie Carley, siblings Burton Carley Jr, Connie Brownell and Marion Beaman. Also by children Raymond Carley, Rhonda Newton, Dawn Kauffman and step-childrenn Keith and Kent Frawley. George has 9 grandchildren (Derrick and Dustin Carley, TJ and Liana Newton, Shane Kauffman, Justin and Evan Frawley, Michael and Morgan Frawley) and 5 great grandchildren (Shane KauffmanJr and Lyla, Julia, Leo and Hallie Frawley).
