Obituary of Robert N. Snyder

Robert (Bobby) N. Snyder, 77, of Adams, NY, passed away peacefully at home alongside his close friend and caregiver, Christina, and niece, Janessa on October 1, 2024. Arrangements are with the Piddock Funeral Home Inc, Adams, NY. Born on December 8, 1946 in Watertown, NY, Bobby was the son of the late Richard and Jane Snyder. He grew up in Adams and graduated from Belleville Central School in 1965. After graduating, he enlisted in the US Military in May of 1967 in the Vietnam War, and received an Honorable Discharge in April 1970. Upon his return home, he worked as a mechanic at his family’s business, C.N. Snyder and Sons. In 1983, he moved to Casselberry, FL, where he worked as a contractor building pool enclosures. He married Virginia (Burns) Snyder, and they resided in Florida until returning back home in 2004 to retire. Following his wife's death, he embraced a quiet life enriched by the company of family and close friends, including his beloved cat “Killer”. In his spare time he was Post Quartermaster at the South Jeff VFW Post 5344 In Adams, NY. Bobby made a lasting impact on everyone he met. He loved to make people laugh, and for those closest to him he was nicknamed “Rotten Robert” due to his “colorful” sense of humor, quick wit, and antics. He was a kind and generous soul, who was there for his family and friends through thick and thin, alway ready to lend a helping hand or a shoulder to lean on. In his younger years he loved to hunt, fish, and play cards. He enjoyed discussing politics, watching old Westerns and comedies, a love for animals, and especially a cold beer. He is survived by two daughters from a previous marriage; Trina from Arizona, and Kimberlie from Little River, SC, three grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his youngest daughter Samantha Snyder, a brother Bernard (Ben) Snyder, and a sister Lynda S. Burns. Upon Bobby's request there will be no service, however there will be a Celebration of Life at the Adams VFW with a date to be announced at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jefferson County SPCA, 25056 Water St. Watertown, NY, 13601. As per the words of Bobby, “Go Trump!” A special thank you to Christina Calvosa - I will never forget the unwavering care and sensitivity you gave my uncle at the end of his life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am so grateful for all you did. Condolences may be made at www.piddockfuneralhome.com
