David R. Swift Obituary
David R. Swift, 76, formerly of LaFargeville, died Saturday January 11, 2025 at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, NY.
Born April 4, 1948 in Erie PA, he was the son of Russell and Edith (Wilcox) Swift. He married Adele Countryman on June 16, 1973 in Lorraine, NY. Following their marriage they lived in LaFargeville, NY. From 1993 until 2000, David and Adele were missionaries. They pastored for 18 years at the Rodman Community Church in Rodman, NY.
They later moved to Port Royal, SC. Adele passed on November 2, 2020. He moved to Clayton, NY in 2021.
He is survived by a brother Rick Parran, FL; a sister Barbara Riley, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
It was David’s wish to have no services. Burial will be at a later date in the Fairview Cemetery, Rodman, NY.
Donations in his memory may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398 Gotham St, Watertown, NY 13601.
