Obituary of Genevieve M. Killenbeck

PIERREPONT MANOR, N.Y. — Genevieve M. Killenbeck, 85, of Pierrepont Manor, died Sunday afternoon, Sept. 20, 2015 at her home where she was under the loving care of her family. As per her wishes, a private family graveside service will be held in the Union Cemetery, Adams Center. There are no calling hours. There will be a celebration of her life 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sep. 23, at the Mannsville Fire Department. Arrangements are with Piddock Funeral Home, Adams. Born Jan. 21, 1930, in Ogdensburg, NY, a daughter of William and Mabel Sackett Spearance, she graduated from Adams Center High School. She worked at the House of the Good Samaritan for six years, and provided child care for local families. She married Lloyd Killenbeck on Dec. 7, 1949, in Baggs Corners. Following their marriage, the couple lived on the Dry Hill Road, moving to Pierrepont Manor in 1958. Surviving besides her husband, Lloyd, are two sons Donald (Donna) Killenbeck, Mannsville, and William (Laura) Killenbeck, Pierrepont Manor; a daughter, Linda (Thomas) Budd, Pierrepont Manor; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Spearance, Altmar; two sisters, Dorothy Hirst, Exeter, NH, Mabel Ryan, LaFargeville; and several nieces and nephews. Five brothers Earl, Harvey, Edward, John and Lawrence Spearance, and two sisters Cora Brown and Elenor Bush, all died before her.
