John Moore, Jr. Obituary

John A. Moore Jr., 66, of Pork Hill Road, Rodman, NY, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, NY. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at Piddock Funeral Home, Adams, with Dan Quinta, pastor officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Rodman. There will be an hour of calling hours beginning at 10 a.m. preceding the funeral. Born December 7, 1948, in Fulton, NY, a son of John and Mildred Peterson Moore, he attended school in Fulton and Adams. Mr. Moore enlisted in the United States Navy in 1970 and was discharged in 1974. He married Lottie Wilder in 1970. The couple lived in Lorraine, Watertown and Arizona before moving to their present home in 1984. Mr. Moore worked for the NYS DOT and later worked construction and at O.D. Greene's in Adams. He also drove for the Volunteer Transportation Center in Watertown. Surviving beside his wife, are three sons Michael L. Moore, Lorraine, John A. (Jennifer) Moore III, Carthage, Tad C. Moore, Rodman; a daughter Janice Moore, Brownville; nine grandchildren, and one brother Charles Moore, Watertown. He was predeceased by a son, Jerry C. Moore, who died in 2013, and a brother, Jerry Moore. Mr. Moore enjoyed landscaping his property.
