Obituary of Thelma R. Seaver

Thelma R. Seaver, 73, of Adams died Saturday morning in the Samaritan Keep Home where she had been admitted Thursday. The funeral will be Wednesday evening at 6:00 at the Piddock Funeral Home, Adams, with Pastor Brian Snyder of the United Westland Church, Sandy Creek officiating. The visitation will be from 4-6 pm preceding the funeral. Burial will be private in the Union Cemetery, Adams Center and at the convenience of the family. Thelma was born June 29, 1943 in Watertown, daughter of Walter and Ubelda (Normand) Hastings. She graduated from Watertown High School and for a time was a waitress at Howard Johnson’s Restaurant, Watertown. It was at the restaurant she met George E. Seaver of Cape Vincent and the couple got married July 21, 1966. They lived in Adams, Watertown, Plattsburgh and in 1980 moved to Adams Center. Mr. Seaver died November 3, 1996. Mrs. Seaver worked for the NYSDEC at Brownville and later for NYSDOT in Adams retiring in 2003. She was a former member of the Adams Center Fire Dept.’s Auxiliary and a former member of the Watertown Eagles Club. She survived by a daughter and her husband, Laurie and Dee Rogers, Adams Center; a son Scott A. Seaver, Watertown; two granddaughters, Brittany Golden, Adams, Delanie Seaver, Watertown, one grandson Ryan Rogers, Adams Center, four step grandchildren Dee Rogers II, Ohio, Clifford Rogers, Ohio, Christopher Rogers, Watertown and David Rogers, LaFargeville; and several great grandchildren, two sisters, Janice Fobert, Watertown, Marilyn Cole (Donald), Watertown; a brother in law Robert Seaver, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by three brothers, John, Richard, and Kenneth Hastings, as well as five sisters, Mildred Artz, Charlotte LaLone, Anita LaLone, Dorothy Hylback and Patricia Booras. Donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398 Gotham St., Watertown, NY 13601.
