Sending heartfelt condolences. I am so fortunate to have grown up in a community surrounded by strong hardworking and caring people like Elsie and your family. I am saddened to see so many of the strong local matriarchs leave us but I take some comfort in knowing the example they left behind. I have always looked up to the elder women in the community amazed by their strengths hoping that I may be lucky enough to have some of that too.
I will miss visiting our family farm and watching Elsie pass by in her little car..........It was a comfort knowing she was on the hill and it is a comfort the Griffiths still are.

I remember Elsie as a fun-loving lady who enjoyed talking sports and always looked forward to attending sporting events. She lit up when she would talk about a game she had attended or was getting ready to attend. She talked about her plans to see as many games as possible once she retired. I lost track of her after she retired but I certainly would guess that she enjoyed herself and her friends and family. Rest in peace Elsie.

I worked with Elsie at Jefferson County DSS and the two things I will always remember are her smile and her love of flowers and birds. May she find a beautiful garden in her eternal rest.

Elsie was my favorite patient. I have known her for 20 years. She was the third " grandmother" to my 2 boys. I don't know how our close personal relationship started but I am sure it had to do with her kindness and thoughtfulness. I met her when I was expecting my first son. Over 20 years she never, ever, missed one of their Birthdays, Xmas, Halloween or Easter celebrations. We could always count on cards on those special days. She always gave me paper clippings that included them. We celebrated her birthday with her, also throughout the years. It was a special relationship that we shared with her.She was also extremely generous to me and my staff. She never failed to give us endless goodies at Christmas. She even made my husband his favorite treats. She was and will always be in my mind as "a ray of sunshine." She will be dearly missed but definitely, never forgotten.

Elsie was one of the kindest people I knew. She was a member of our HUMC family who will be sorely missed. She and Harold were faithful Sunday attendees each participating in the service when they could. Her smile will always be remembered.

Sending prayers to the family. Elsie was a big part of our cottage life. She was my mom’s BFF (Edna Gartz) until mom passed. She was a grandmother to Edna’s great grand children. Never missed giving M&M’s to all. Awesome lady that we will all miss. Fondly, Janette Porretti

Although we are deeply saddened by the loss of our wonderful Aunt we are consoled by all the fond memories we have created over the many years. She was a treasure for sure and had a zest for life and people. Always there to lend a shoulder to cry on or an ear to listen. We will miss her deeply. May you rest in peace Aunt Elsie. Till we meet again.
