Dear Cook family: It breaks our hearts when death separates us from our loved ones no matter how young or how old they may happen to be. We are reminded in the Bible that there is One who sees our distress and pain and has promised (soon) that death will be done away with...swallowed up forever. (Isaiah 25:8) He will heal our broken hearts by resurrecting our precious loved ones to life again. (John 5:28, 29) I hope in the days ahead as you reflect on the life of your loved one, and the precious memories left behind, that you will also find much comfort in God's promises to us for the near future, for they will not fail to come true. (Titus 1:2) To learn more about this wonderful hope please visit jw.org and search, “When a loved one dies.”

Francis A. Cook, Simply, "Ike"
A Life is not something you Sum up like a column on a tally sheet.
I believe a person's life is Your memory of them. From your eyes, your ears, and your heart.
My memories of Ike were that of a very dear friend. Please reflect on this;
How many of you have been driving on what I believe to be Ike's favorite piece of earth, Little Kildare Park, and heard his truck slip into park and the first thing you hear is "Do you need a hand with that Old Boy?"
Or realized you don't pass Ike on the road without a "How are you today?" with all his volume turned on.
Think back the last time you were in any full group of family, friends, and new acquaintances, and Ike was helping someone else's Kid with their current dilemma whether it was ferrying your day’s gear to the prime location of your day, or helping to fill that air floaty, Space-Giraffey thing.
Who hasn't received a completely unexpected visit or personal invitation from Ike to some spontaneous function, and you received it in full volume with his infectious teenage exuberance!!
Who hasn't been surprised just carrying an armload of anything from point to point and you get a truly warm offering from the best known "personal happy Valet", popping out with an overly excitable "Here, let me get this for you.”, These are all my Ike. I've watched him take great patience, caring and thoughtfulness in explaining something to his wonderful children so they
understand but he weaves the parenting into observational
conversation so as not to embarrass them. Yes, I've watched it.
He enjoyed life without any reservations. He enjoyed everyone's company openly and contagiously, making groups of strangers feel like old cousins of the family.
I truly believed in my "heart of hearts" that Ike worked like no other person to create an environment for all of us to get together and get along. Ike spent a generous portion of his time creating spontaneous social venues so he could spend time with you. That spawned countless lifelong friendships, regardless of who you were.
My Ike was always curious to learn something new, meet
someone new, and try some new activity. That spark I hope stays burning bright in Mario and Jude.
Celia and Ike have raised some of the nicest young adults I will ever know. That's not an accident. That's love and effort. Ike, we loved you here with us, and I will always love you in my memories, of "Ike".

"Ike" was one of the best in this crazy world. If we would all strive to be half the person that he was, life for all involved would certainly improve. I don't know what it was about this guy, but always knew that Ike cared for everyone that he met, and when you spoke to him, he was truly listening. I was one of Ike's instructors at SUNY Canton. Needless to say, he kept my classes entertaining and me on my toes! My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

My heart is hurting for the loss of Ike. I went to high school with him and although we weren't terribly close, he was always the fun guy of the group and I have nothing but good memories. My thoughts and prayers are with Ike's family. My deepest sympathy.

Oh Ike, I met your wonderful ball of fire and love when Joe and I were 19 and you were only seven years old. You and joe had such a loving bond then, and such similar loves for life and mischief as we all grew into adult-hood. Ike, you’ve always held a wonderful place in my heart as a fellow “hooligan”.i will miss you, pray for you, and love you, always. Pam
